Should I buy the 18 hole or 36 hole battery?
The 18 hole (16AH) battery is designed to complete 18 holes when used with a standard bag and golf trolley. In fact you are likely to achieve around 27 holes in good conditions on most courses. So in most circumstances the 18 hole battery is the ideal choice. If you play in excess of 18 holes at one time, the Tracer 36 hole (24 Ah) battery is obviously the choice for you. We would also recommend this larger battery if you have a twin motor trolley with a heavy bag (in excess of 15Kg), particularly when playing a hilly course in wet conditions.
Will the Tracer Golf battery fit my trolley?
Yes. Our batteries are compatible with all 12 volt golf trolleys and they exactly replicate the characteristics of lead-acid batteries. The battery has an integral T-bar connection system and each battery also comes with a Torberry adapter. These connectors are sufficient for the vast majority of golf trolleys on the market. If you require a bespoke connection, we can provide this (usually free of charge) please call us for details.
What is the life of my Tracer golf battery?
Tracer golf batteries use Lithium Phosphate technology ensuring they are good for 2000 rounds of golf (on average). That’s a lot of golf! In reality the average golfer can expect at least four years of use. We guarantee each battery for two years from date of purchase.
How should I look after my Tracer golf battery?
It is actually very difficult to damage a Tracer golf battery. The casing is fully waterproof and the battery electronically protected against over-charge, discharge and short circuit. The one thing that can damage your battery, is leaving it in a fully discharged state for prolonged periods. If you charge your battery regularly after use, it should last for many years.
Are Tracer batteries safe?
Yes, very. The Lithium Phosphate technology in our golf batteries in inherently safe. Our sophisticated battery management system provides further protection. In addition all Tracer batteries have been through a rigorous UN testing procedure to ensure they are fully safe.
Is 16Ah big enough for a round of golf?
Yes. Please note that Lithium Phosphate are rated differently to traditional lead-acid batteries and give a much greater performance per AH than sealed lead acid. So do not be put off by what appears to be a low Ah rating.
